ABOUT THE PRESENTER
Tim Hodgetts is an emergency physician with over 35 years of military experience and has treated the victims of conflict in Northern Ireland, Kosovo, Iraq and Afghanistan.
Tim has published extensively (over 30 books) and designed international curricula that set both military and civilian standards. He has led a contemporary revolution in combat casualty care resulting in extraordinary patient outcomes, recognised through being made Commander of the British Empire in 2009. Additional awards are Officer of the Order of St John (services to humanity, Kosovo); the Danish Defence Medal for Meritorious Service (leadership of the multinational field hospital in Afghanistan); and Honorary Surgeon to Her Majesty the Queen.
His numerous professional awards include the accolade of national ‘Hospital Doctor of the Year’.
Tim has served at Brigadier as Medical Director of the Defence Medical Services and currently as Senior Health Adviser to the Army and Head Army Medical Services. He is co-Founder and Chair of Trustees of the registered charity citizenAID.
