This is an advanced course designed for those who have some previous safeguarding adults training.
This course will help you become familiar with the role and responsibilities of the Designated Person/Safeguarding Lead for safeguarding

Who is it aimed at?
Those who are the named Designated Person / Safeguarding Leads working in education, health, local authority, charities, private sector, voluntary organisations and who have responsibility for safeguarding vulnerable adults (and/or children) within their organisation.

Role of a Designated Person or Safeguarding Lead
  • To promote positive safeguarding policies procedures and practices.
  • To refer cases of suspected abuse or allegations to the relevant investigating agencies.
  • To act as a source of support, advice and expertise within the organisation and liaising with relevant agencies.
  • To prepare reports including timetables of staff training, policy reviews, referrals and on-going investigations.
